Car interior photography: lighting, space and details

Photograph car interiors without unnecessary distortion. Show the dashboard, upholstery, space and equipment while checking screens and visible wear.

Car interior photographs should explain space, layout, equipment and condition. Use a sensible camera position, soft light and separate detail views. An extremely wide image may fit everything in while giving a misleading impression of room.

Start with dashboard and seats

Capture the dashboard from a position that keeps the steering wheel and centre console visible. Photograph front seats, rear seats and boot separately. For a seven-seater, include the third row and the space available in the shown configuration.

Do not move seats to different extremes for every picture; keep the arrangement understandable.

Keep lighting and materials credible

Avoid a deeply shadowed dashboard with completely blown-out windows. Seek softer light or change the angle. Strong filters can make upholstery lighter or plastic appear more luxurious than it is.

Add close-ups of relevant wear on seat bolsters, steering wheel and controls. A pleasing overview does not replace that information.

Check screens and details

Keep personal information, including saved addresses and phone names, out of frame. Show installed options clearly without suggesting equipment the vehicle lacks. Compare displayed mileage with the listing text.

Retain original numbers and lettering: generated displays are not reliable records.

When might AI background editing help?

Editing can help with distracting surroundings visible through windows. That does not justify redesigning the cabin. 123CarStudio recognises the shot type automatically. Compare seat stitching, materials, controls and screens with the source.

If a detail remains wrong, use the original or capture a better photograph. Buyers need to assess the actual interior specification.
