Original number plate or dealer plate in car photos?

Choose between original number plates and dealer branding in car photos. Check logo clarity, plate text, perspective and vehicle details before publication.

A branded plate in a car photograph visually replaces the registration with a logo or business name. It can make the image set recognisable, but does not change the vehicle’s registration. This is image presentation; listing data must remain accurate.

Keep the registration or use branding?

The original plate can help link an image with vehicle records. A dealer-branded plate emphasises the business instead. Choose a consistent approach for overview images and retain originals for internal checks.

A digital branding plate is not a replacement for a legally required registration plate on the physical vehicle.

Choose a logo or text

Use a clear logo or short plate text. Long slogans become unreadable on mobile. Maintain contrast between the plate and its content. Where the logo has its own background, consciously retain it or choose a suitable colour using the available settings.

Check the spelling of the business name. Do not let a model invent another version of the brand.

Inspect fit and perspective

The plate should follow the original holder’s angle. Check width, perspective, edges and fixings. A plate overlapping the grille, parking sensors or bumper produces an inaccurate image.

A rear three-quarter view needs the same attention as the front.

Approve and publish

Compare the edited area with both the source and the actual logo. Check the rest of the vehicle too: a local instruction can still lead to changes elsewhere in a generative edit.

Use 123CarStudio’s dealer-plate option alongside result review. Keep original before-images unedited when presenting a comparison and identify which photograph was modified.
